But never the storms she’d weathered.

They remarked on her dark circles, 

Never the nights she spent sleepless and tethered.

They heard the gasp in her breath, 

But not the cries buried deep in her chest.

They glimpsed her torn, fragile smile, 

Unaware of the heaviness she’d never confessed.

They draped her shattered soul 

Beneath a bridal robe— 

A veil for the battles she never chose.
